Field Day 2025
Friday, May 9th (Rain Date: Monday, May 12th)
1st Grade - 5th Grade students participate in both AM and PM sessions.
AM Kindergarten participates in AM session only. PM Kindergarten participates in PM session only.
Field Day Morning Session: 9:10 - 11:45
Field Day Afternoon Session: 1:00 - 3:35

1. What should my child wear for field day? Do they need to wear a specific color?
Students should dress comfortably & must wear sneakers. Students may also wear hats, sunglasses, bug repellent and sunscreen. Students will be given a specific shirt color for field day by their classroom teacher.
2. How can I volunteer to help?
We are so thankful and depend upon parents/grandparent/guardians volunteers to help with Field Day, Please click here to sign up to help make our day amazing. CLICK ME
3. Are parents/ grandparents/guardians allowed to come watch Field Day?
Yes, family members are invited to attend field day and watch their child participate. Before coming to Field Day Spectators need to fill out the registration form by clicking CLICK ME
All attendees must check in at the registration table before going to watch any events. Photography is not permitted during the event.
4. Are younger siblings (that aren't school-age yet) allowed to participate in field day?
No, only students enrolled at Silver Spring Elementary are allowed to participate in field day. Please make sure that any children you bring along with you are properly supervised and are not interfering with any field day station.
5. Are pets permitted at Field Day?
Pets are not allowed on school property during field day. Please leave your pets at home.
6. Should my child pack lunch for field day? May I eat lunch with them?
Students will eat lunch in the cafeteria like always. Due to space restrictions we cannot welcome anyone else into the cafeteria.
7. Should my child bring a water bottle to field day?
Hydration is so important at field day! Students are encouraged to bring a water bottle that is labeled with their first and last name. There will be a water station at field day where students can refill their water bottle throughout the day.
8. Can I take my child home at the end of field day?
Normal dismissal procedures will occur on field day. Students will start getting dismissed from their classrooms at 3:50pm like a normal school day. Students may NOT leave with you directly from any field day events.
9. Are there any points or awards earned at field day?
Our Silver Spring Day is cooperative-based with some elements of competition. However, there are no points awarded for events.
10. Is my student really going to get wet at Field Day?
Weather permitting, indeed they will!
